1. Ensure physical distancing

  • All staff and customers to remain 1.5 metres apart at all times.
  • Signage will be displayed with the number of people allowed in each area.

2. Wear a face covering

  • All employees will wear a face mask for the duration of their shift.
  • All staff to complete the online COVID safety training to ensure correct application of PPE.
  • All customers over the age of 12 will be required to wear a face mask.

3. Practise good hygiene

  • Hot water, hand wash and sanitiser is available in all caravans.
  • Staff are to wash their hands regularly.
  • Cleaning and sanitising all high touch areas every two hours or as frequently as possible.
  • Tables and chairs to be sanitised between each sitting.
  • Swapping condiments for single serve sachets.
  • All communal children’s toys will be removed, customers encouraged to bring own toys and complete a seated for children.
  • Removal of communal water glasses for guests to self-serve.

4. Keep records and act quickly if workers become unwell

  • Records of which staff members are working will be kept on file for 12 months.
  • Customers to check-in using online system or paper form on arrival at the cafe.
  • If a staff member has been diagnosed with Covid-19, the customers will be advised by The Hungry Peacock within 24 hours. DHHS will then be in contact with the client to discuss further steps.

5. Avoid interactions in enclosed spaces

  • Signage will be displayed with the number of people allowed in each area.
  • Staff breaks will be staggered and staff will be encouraged to take their break outside where possible.
  • Customers seated outside where possible
  • Doors and windows to remain open in all spaces with fans to circulate air.

6. Create workforce bubbles

The Hungry Peacock will ensure that staff work in small teams that will reduce the risk of spreading Covid-19 between a larger cohort of staff.
